Jump! 2016 Staff: Introducing Maddie Stump

    In 2016, summer, Jump!, PAs

I'm currently pursuing a double major in Public Health and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) as well as Five College Certificates in Queer and Sexuality Studies and Reproductive Rights, Health, and Justice. On campus I'm currently involved with a student organization called Gender Liberation UMass which is a group of student activists working with and without the university's administration to promote the rights of transgender students on campus.

I'm also involved with a student organization called Active Minds, which promotes the acceptance and education of mental disorders on campus. I love the variety and depth of courses offered at UMass and that we can take classes and attend events at any of the five colleges, made even easier by the reliable PVTA bus service. I also love the variety and quality of food offered at the UMass dining commons. I'm excited for the Jump! programs this summer because of the opportunity to introduce incoming students to everything that UMass Amherst, the Five Colleges, and the Valley as a whole have to offer to. I'm also excited to meet and become friends with all of the incoming students, and enjoy my summer with all of them and my fellow staff members!
