NEW PROGRAMS FOR SUMMER 2021
2021 has presented us with many challenges to offering you the engaging programming you need to make the most of you summer break and prepare for college. While we won't be on campus this summer, we're fortunate to be able to draw on UMass's decades-long experience of delivering high quality online instruction. Building off of our pivot to remote learning last year, we have several new programs available for high school students, all fully online, all featuring live, synchronous instruction. Creative Coding & Data Visualization (3 weeks, July 12 - 30)
For centuries, data visualizations like charts and infographics have been used to communicate critical information and promote social change. In this course, you will learn to program through using real-world data to create static and interactive data visualizations, similar to those seen in news outlets like The New York Times. full description

Equine Science Intensive: Horse Pregnancy & Foaling (1 week, July 12 - 16 | July 26 - 30)
Join us for an online Equine Science Intensive and learn all about Horse Pregnancy & Foaling. Using real-life case studies from the UMass Hadley Farm Equine Center, you will learn how to properly manage a broodmare during her 11-month pregnancy and prepare for a new foal! full description

Programming for Aspiring Scientists: Python with Applications to Physics (2 weeks, June 28 - July 9)
The use of computers in today’s world has become nearly universal, whether you use them to Google the latest factoid, send an email, write a paper for school, or carry out a calculation. This 2-week course will give you a glimpse into how scientists use computers to solve problems. full description

How do NFL teams manage Super Bowl marketing campaigns? Why did the National Women’s Soccer League negotiate a media rights deal with Twitch? Students will become immersed in timely, critical issues impacting the professional sport management industry, and learn the theory, strategy and tactical approach behind how teams, leagues, media organizations and fans exist together within the unique environment of sport fandom. full description
